Brief one this time although lots and lots has been going on!
Firstly, this Thursday is first Thursday of the month, so please do your best to join us at Teddington gate at 6:50pm for the regular run. It should be a large group this time out and it also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, so very fitting to take in a loop around the landmarks of Bushy Park. It will probably be a few groups at various speeds, so ideal for all.
The club AGM took place on 23rd May. It was a great success in many ways, celebrating our first complete year as an EA affiliated club, recognising several great performances over the year with the various awards, a fundraising auction, and having Q&A with an Olympian. A great time was had by all! More details on this on the website
This came just a week after the Green Belt Relay, where we had our first relay team of the season spending 2 days circumventing greater London. As always, great fun and some stellar runs. Well done to everyone that took part.
This came after loads of terrific Spring marathon performances and now we head towards warmer times and shorter distances, with a good few 5k pb’s looking under serious threat! Also well done to Stew Curtis for his cycling at the weekend. Whilst he doesn’t compete under SHAEF CC, he still did mightily well in the Tour of Cambridge at the weekend!
We have shared details on membership renewals for 2019/20. It has been great to see so many already renew as well as several new members signing up. Huge welcome to all of you and hope you enjoy being part of the club.
See as many of you as possible on Thursday.
Ian.
