Well done to all the racers last week. It seemed like half the club were competing. We had representation at the Bournemouth Marathon (Owen and Charlie), Chicago Marathon (Tom), Chester Marathon (Danny), Kempton Park half/10k (Dan, Ol, Zoe, Rob), Kingston half (Clayton, Jon, Rich) and Oxford half (Louise). Some terrific times, results and placings. Sorry if I missed anyone!
Challenge is whether this weekend we have more people turning out at the Cabbage Patch 😊 Hope everyone has a great run and as many of us as possible can stick around afterwards for some social fun…
From a couple of weeks earlier, Ol has now competed his write-up from Berlin Marathon. Have a browse under the race reports section.
We also have an update from Owen regarding club kit - new supplier, same great design:
For anyone that’s been patiently waiting for club kit, sorry it’s taken so long, but hopefully the wait is nearly over! I’ve been working with a new supplier, and the latest samples I received this week are looking good. I’ll bring along a medium men’s tee and vest to the Cabbage Patch after the race on Sunday for anyone who wants to take a look. If everyone is happy, we should be able to get the club webshop setup pretty quick for you buy what you need. I should get confirmation on pricing and what other gear they’ll be able to supply in the next few days, so will send that round when I have it, providing everyone is happy with the samples.
Congratulations also to Rob and Kit who were successful in the London Marathon ballot, joining the other club members who were already in through good for age. Reminder that we’ll have our draw for the club place in the coming weeks and we’ll also be scheduling some pre-Christmas club fun. Dates to be confirmed.
We are also planning on migrating some of our interaction to ‘Slack’, which we are currently trialling and has a lot of sleek functionality for discussions, chats, scheduling, polls etc. Look out for more on that.
Ian.
