More big successes last weekend!
Firstly, pacing duties at Bushy parkrun, as we donned the yellow bibs for all the ‘even’ minutes. Well done to everyone for helping out at Parkrun and also getting some profile for the club. Some of the pacing wasn’t quite spot on but some blame attached to the timekeeping…
Second, lots of great performances in both Hampton Court and Wokingham Half marathons. Special congratulations to Ian H, Chris B and Chris H for three excellent PBs. If you haven’t yet read Ian’s race report, I’d recommend 5 minutes of your time to have a look. Next up in the half marathon series if The Big Half, with a big SHAEF turnout. That should be a great day and the shield is up for grabs for the first time in the year!
Also shouldn’t forget about a great win for Justin in the 3,000m indoor masters at the weekend. Top running all!
This weekend should be the 250th parkrun celebrations of the Ian’s; H and F. Hope to see plenty of you down there for the run, post run run, and maybe a quick drink and bite afterwards.
Sunday runs are getting more serious as marathon season approaches, so 8am on a Sunday is a great chance to boost your fitness, along with 6:50pm on a Tuesday and Thursday. There are also midweek runs during the week from work out to Teddington, starting at a convenient station on the way back from London. If you want to join those, just shout.
As far as a club update, we now have 26 fully paid up members. If you haven’t yet signed up and paid your fees, please get it done. We’ll start to enforce membership to join the club runs soon and it will also be a requirement to join the club AGM, which will most likely take place in April.
